about grey

Grey is a distinguished gentleman who has dedicated much of his life to working and is now ready to enjoy a well-deserved retirement! This lovely guy is seeking a peaceful home where he can settle into the quieter pace of life he's earned. Grey is a loving and gentle soul who brings a calm, steady presence to any household lucky enough to welcome him.

With a low-to-moderate energy level, Grey is perfectly content with leisurely walks and cozy lounging sessions on his beloved elevated beds. He's 100% food-motivated, making him a joy to work with, and he absolutely loves his collection of squeaky toys, balls, and puzzle feeders that keep his mind engaged. One of his most endearing qualities is his excitement on garbage day - he transforms into a little detective, eagerly sniffing all the recycling bins and garbage cans during his walks!

Grey's health is beautifully managed with daily medications for his idiopathic epilepsy and arthritis, which are easy to administer and have been very effective in keeping him comfortable. He's incredibly intuitive about his routine and seems to know when it's time for his evening medication. His epilepsy requires regular blood work monitoring, but this is a small price to pay for such a wonderful companion.

This well-mannered gentleman has excellent house manners - he doesn't beg for human food (though his height means he can't help but investigate interesting counter smells!), doesn't jump on furniture, and is so well-behaved he doesn't even bark when the doorbell rings. Grey loves being hugged and having his ears rubbed, and he's perfectly content being carried upstairs to sleep in the bedroom with his family.

Grey does wonderfully with calm, respectful dogs and shows mild curiosity about new canine friends, though he can be a bit enthusiastic in his greetings due to his size. He's indifferent to smaller dogs and gets along beautifully with regular canine visitors. His toy collection is his pride and joy, so he'd benefit from some management around other dogs to ensure everyone stays happy during playtime.

Car rides are enjoyable once Grey gets settled in his preferred spot close to the driver - he's figured out exactly where he likes to sit and appreciates having stairs to help him get in and out comfortably. He has no separation anxiety and is wonderfully independent, though he did want his whole family together during the Canada Day fireworks, showing just how much he cares about his people.

Grey is looking for a patient, understanding family who will appreciate his gentle nature and provide the consistent care he needs. If you're ready to open your heart to a loyal companion who will bring years of love, laughter, and perfectly managed retirement energy to your home, Grey is waiting to meet you!
