Summer is a loving companion who thrives on human connection and attention. This girl has a wonderfully silly personality that shines through in her playful moments, whether she's showing off a new favourite toy or engaging in a game of chase around the house. She adores cuddles and will lean right into you for a good hug, making her an incredibly endearing presence in any home.

While Summer has a gentle, low-key energy indoors where she's content to lounge nearby and keep you company, she comes alive on outdoor adventures. She loves running and playing on walks, exploring trails, and even enjoys the rain and snow. Her leash manners are excellent, and she walks calmly beside her person while taking time to thoroughly investigate her surroundings.

Summer is pee pad trained and will ask to go outside when she needs to, though due to her medical needs, she does have occasional accidents. With frequent outdoor breaks, especially every few hours during flare-ups, accidents can be minimized. She'll need an understanding and patient adopter who can work with her on this. Her house manners are otherwise impeccable, and she never gets into mischief when left alone.

She's food motivated and enjoys both her meals and treats, though she does have her preferences and appreciates variety. She's also quite toy-motivated and will happily entertain herself with the right selection of durable toys.

This intelligent girl does best as the only dog in a single-level home with someone who can be present often, whether that's someone who works from home or a retired individual or couple. She needs a family committed to managing her ongoing health needs, including regular medication and veterinary care for her chronic conditions. Summer can be sensitive about being moved or handled unexpectedly, particularly around her hindquarters. She would do best with adults or older teens who understand her boundaries and can provide patient, consistent guidance.

For the right family who can offer her the care, attention, and understanding she needs, Summer will be an incredibly loyal and loving companion who brings joy, laughter, and plenty of affection to every day.
